The FX-05 Xiuhcoatl is Mexico Army's new updated primary rifle firing the 5.56mm ammo. Since 2006 when Mexico’s former president Cauldron initially launched their country’s war on drugs. The drug cartels are going to be afraid of this new weapon. This might have been in the hands of the cartel who kidnapped 4 americans on the Mexican American border in 2023. Jualisco cartel and el chap should fear the rifle.

By July 2019 approximately 155,000 FX-05 rifles have been produced with plans to continue pumping out even more. With a name that translates from the ancient Aztec word for “Fire Serpent,” the FX-05 is a homegrown weapon that we’ll see how its design is actually uniquely well suited to battle it out against the cartels.
