Should you buy the Dacckit Travel Case for the Nintendo Switch
In this video, we check out the Dacckit Travel Case designed to transport and protect the Nintendo Switch and accessories.
One of the coolest features of the Nintendo Switch is the ability to take console-quality gaming with you on the go, just about anywhere you might go. One of the concerns with taking the Switch on the go with you, however, is the risk of damage to the system and concerns over how to transport everything you might need with you. A company named Dacckit recently reached out to us to see if we'd like to check out their new transportation case for the Nintendo Switch. With conventions and road trips in our future having a safe way to transport the Switch is definitely something I'm interested in!
The Dacckit case is a two-fold design. The outside is firm, yet not a hard case. The black fabric is pretty attractive and should prove to be rather resilient over time. Either side of the case features metal loops for the shoulder strap to clip to. Twin zippers seal up the inside of the case nicely.
I was a bit surprised at the size of the Dacckit case, it's really big! Not in an unwieldy way but in a "Holy cow, I really CAN take everything I need to play the Switch on the go with me" sort of way. Not only can I transport my Switch and Joy Cons, which other cases can do, but all the accessories for it too. Dock, Joy Con Grip, HDMI cable, Pro Controllers, AC Adapter and your games can all easily fit inside the Dacckit case.
Getting everything inside the Dacckit case was a breeze - mostly. I still had the Nyko Joy Con Grip jellies on from our recent review of the thin case and, well, they definitely made it harder to get the Switch in and out. It is not that they added a lot of girth, but they just did not promote insertion and extraction. Once removed from the Switch the console itself popped in and out without issue. In fact, all the accessories dropped right in their respective slots inside the case. The ONLY minor issue I ran into with the Dacckit case was that I couldn't fit the Retro Fighters Switch Combo Controller in the slot designed for the Pro Controller. I can't fault Dacckit, the Retro Fighter's controller is slightly wider at the bottom of the grip, which causes the issue.
Why it RoX:
- Perfect storage for your Switch, games, and ALL the accessories you need
- Only $29.99 puts it at a good price for the features
- Sturdy design
- Durable and Tough Hard EVA Shell
- 12-Month Warranty
- Shoulder strap or handle for carrying
What could be improved?
- While it stores EVERYTHING for the Switch you don't necessarily need EVERYTHING on the go.
- 3rd Party controllers may not fit
- Some may not care for the blue foam inside the case.
Should you buy one?
If you take your Switch on the go, for the money, you can do a lot worse than the Dacckit Travel Case. It accommodates everything I need to take the system on the go while being sturdy and reliable. It provides a great level of protection, perfect for road trips and vacations. If I had younger kids that I traveled with this is definitely what I would like to use to help keep everything together on-the-go. Best of all Dacckit backs it with a worry-Free 12-Month Warranty and 100% Money Back Guarantee. All-in-all this is a great way to transport and protect your Nintendo Switch when you head out on the road.
