Hyperkin has been one of the most established manufacturers in the world of clone 8-bit NES systems. They have systems ranging from the original Retron 1 which only plays Nintendo Entertainment System games, the Retron 2 which plays both NES and Super NES games, Retron 3 which added in Genesis compatibility and the Retron 5 which actually supported 10-different consoles and, more important to many, an HDMI output. Where the Retron 5 gained controversy for many reasons the demand for high-quality NES systems with and HDMI output still exists. Hyperkin hopes to address this need with their updated Retron 1 HD. In this video we check out the packaging and unpack the Retron 1 HD as we prepare for our upcoming review.
