Crap Singing Christmas Tree - Keeps forgetting the Words

As per my usual annual Christmas tat collecting, I found this gem.

I got one for my niece a few weeks ago and her's worked perfectly, but I picked up another today and, well... this. It could be the batteries, as I had to raid the house for AAA's, but it was pretty funny to listen to nonethetheless...
