When preparing for a regeneration harvest, we make the trees to be left in the stand for seed, future timber value and wildlife feed.
In this case we are marking the sugar maple, swamp white oaks and some species diversity.
This area should thicken up and provide deer bedding areas and regenerate a healthy young forest needed by many wildlife species.
