Trump surrenders at Manhattan court for NYC arraignment

On Tuesday afternoon, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office saw the surrender of the former US President, Donald Trump, to face criminal charges linked to the “hush money” payment given to Stormy Daniels.

Trump, aged 76, left his Trump Tower residence in Midtown and raised his fist before being taken downtown in a motorcade, the New York Post reported.

He became the first US president to be prosecuted criminally. Shortly before turning himself in, Trump posted on Truth Social, “Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL — WOW, they are going to ARREST ME.

Can’t believe this is happening in America. MAGA!” Trump was accompanied by Secret Service and wore his typical dark suit and red tie, waving before he walked into the DA’s office for his scheduled 2:15 p.m. arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Court.
