4/4/2023 Terminating winter rye in a raised garden bed

I needed to terminate the winter rye to prep the garden bed so that it will be ready to plant in the upcoming weeks. I don't want this to regrow so I cut the winter rye just under the soil surface to remove the crown of the plant and leave the roots in the soil to breakdown over the next few weeks before planting my seedlings. Trying to leave living roots in the soil helps to promote soil life. This helps to lead to better crops, we shall see if this helps.
