RDR:O NPC references hidden detail in-game

I just thought it was weird how the storekeeper is aware of hidden details in the game

The game is Red Dead: Online, and the Easter egg he references is one where a young man was caught in an accidental shooting and died. So the girl spoken about was permanently locked up in her house… I’m not too sure about all the details, but that’s what I heard from a handful of videos on YouTube
