The old book burners wore brownshirts and made bonfires out of actual printed books.

The new book burners are far more insidious, the don't actually burn the books, they simply "rewrite them for modern sensibilities."

And they don't confine their vandalism to ensuring future readers never hear the authors' actual words, they edit your electronic versions (like kindle) in real time, so when you update, you get the vandalized version.

And do so in the name of "preserving the author's legacy, but..."
