Before They Were Gone, Jim Morrison formed the Doors, achieved rock stardom with 7 albums reaching the top 10 of the Billboard 200, and 3 featured in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Young Jim Morrison was a highly intelligent navy brat, who moved often and was fascinated with reading and writing, particularly poetry. As a teen, he began to rebel against his father's strict discipline, and this rebelliousness would continue throughout the rest of his life as singer, poet and icon of 1960's counter culture. But there was a darkness inside the sex symbol and rock god and earned for himseld the title as The Lizard King.

This was because of his energy and moves while performing but he also became notorious for his drinking, drug use and outrageous stage behaviour including public arrests and for exposing himself. In 1971 Morrison left the Doors to write poetry and moved to Paris, while he was meant to be taking care of his health it was in Paris that he died presumably of heart failure, but there are many who conclude that it was heroine use that cost him his life.
