How To Deflate SUP | Packing Up The ROC Inflatable Paddle Board

How to deflate and properly pack away an inflatable standup paddleboard is actually much easier than you think. But it can be a little confusing at first, particularly when folding it perfectly to fit inside the carry case.

How to deflate SUP & Pack Away

-Remove any removable fins
-Lay the board flat, open the valve located on the rear surface of the board
-Push the center button inwards and twist and lock it in place. This will remove the air without needing to press and hold. (Air will rapidly escape, but a large portion will have to be manually removed, therefore)
-Begin slowly rolling the SUP starting at the top. Roll it tight and as straight as you can while removing the excess air. (I push down at the rolled portion with my hands or knees)
-After it’s fully rolled, place it in the bag. It should fit snug if all the air is out, it’s rolled straight and tight.
-Put the remaining components in the bag. (Fin, paddle after disassembled, pump, etc)'

Issues With Inflating A Standup Paddleboard
Deflating a SUP is easy, but inflating one manually is very annoying. It actually used to discourage me from going paddleboarding in the first place thinking since manually pumping a SUP took time and kind of wore out my arms before even hitting the water.

With that being said, I highly recommend anyone with an inflatable SUP to use an electric pump. There are many great options on the market. The one I use is the SereneLife that’s charged by my car’s battery plug.

It made paddleboarding trips so much easier and more enjoyable since my arms weren’t slightly tired from consistent pumping for 15 minutes. Digital pumps also show the PSI amount so you can get your board where you want it.
