EXTRA BIBLICAL TEXT - The Book of Suzanna was not included in the Cannon of the scriptures as it was not considered, by biblical scholars, as 'entirely inspired' by the Holy Spirit or the texts did not reveal the will of God through pure standards of biblical interpretation.

However, these books do include inspired spiritual instructions, revelations, and passages as-well-as excellent reference material for world history and human interaction of their time.

These texts should not be taken as 'the Word of God' as we have come to accept and know the cannon of scripture, but these books are a vital and very necessary look at the history and education for a greater understanding of biblical times, events, and cultures which are not revealed to us from the 'accepted' sixty-six books of the current cannon of inspired scriptures.

The Book of Susanna is an apocryphal book of the Old Testament. It tells the story of a virtuous Jewish lady named Susanna who faced false accusations of adultery by two corrupt elders in her community. Susanna was the wife of a wealthy and influential Jewish man named Joacim.

While taking a bath in her garden, she was approached by the two Jewish elders who had secretly followed her. They threatened to accuse Susanna of adultery with a young man unless she agreed to satisfy their lust. Susanna, aware of the consequences of the false accusations, refused to be blackmailed and cried out for help.

The two elders falsely accused her of adultery, and Susanna was arrested and put on trial. During the trial, Susanna was defended by the prophet Daniel, who proved the elders' falsehood by separating them and questioning them separately.

Their contradictory statements condemned them, and Susanna was proven innocent. The Book of Susanna teaches the importance of the virtues of chastity and justice and underscores the sin of false accusations. It is considered a useful text for moral instruction and religious reflection.
