Before he would get involved in fashion and be named one of GQ’s top 10 most stylish at New York Fashion Week for 2015.
Before he would sign a deal with RCA and drop ‘When It’s Dark Out’.
Before he would be referred to as The James Dean or The Lana Del Ray of Rap.

G Eazy who used to go by the name Generic and later Young Gerald grew up the only child of a school teacher lesbian mother who didn’t mind smoking a J from time to time, she also didn’t mind her son wearing baggy clothes and having all his friends over after school to record music all night long in his bedroom. G Eazy took his passion for music to Loyola University enrolled in Music Industry Studies taking classes on production, business and marketing. When he wasn’t in class he was hustling his mixtapes. Things took off for him before he completed school getting to tour with Drake. Following this everything looked like he was gonna get signed before he was dropped by producers and left in L.A. not knowing what to do next.

Born Gerald Earl Gillum in Oakland, California, on May 24, 1989 to Ukrainian American parents. When he was in first grade, him and his mother Suzanne Olmsted moved in with his grandparents in Berkeley, California. They later moved to North Oakland, but due to Geralds desire to stay near his friends he would commute back to Berkeley for school.

When he was young, his parents separated, and his mother began a relationship with a woman named Melissa. This was a relationship he didn’t approve of but later grew to accept. Melissa passed away from a drug overdose and it was young Gerald who found her body.
