Currently all eyes are on Steven Avery and it’s easy to wonder if he really has any idea locked away in his cell.
Steven grew up hanging out mainly with his large family, together they owned and operated an Automobile Junk Yard, he had been in trouble with the law for a breaking and entering as a youth, another crime involved him bring arrested for setting a cat on fire, an act he blaims on being young and stupid and one he pleased guilty too. When he was arrested for a sexual assault conviction he pleaded innocent and would stick to his story until he was found innocent some 18 years later, but then would go back to jail.

Steven Allen Avery was born on July 9, 1962 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. A half hour drive south of Green Bay. The Avery family grew up on their own road, known as Avery Road. The family was large with many members young and old. They didn’t integrate much with the rest of those in their community.

Steven Avery was known as a caring young man, but to outsiders he was looked at as that of a troublemaker and for good reason, he had a track record. In school he wasn’t the sharpest in the class and was tested and scored with an IQ of 70, which is classified as a borderline mental deficiency.
