BEFORE she suffered domestic abuse at the hands of Chris Brown yet the two would romantically reunite four years later.
BEFORE there was ever a “Rihanna Day” celebrated nation wide in Barbados.

When young Rihanna wasn’t at school, training as an army cadet or practicing her singing with her three member girl group she would assist her father selling clothes out of a stall on the streets of St. Michael. Her father was addicted to both crack cocaine and alcohol which made life at home far from peaceful. Her mother worked as a makeup artist but wouldn’t allow her young girl experiment until she got older and that’s likely why there are a few questionable photo’s of her online prior to her fame, but who cares now? She’s a total babe!

Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988, in St. Michael on the Caribbean island of Barbados. She is the eldest of three children and also has step siblings. Her mother Monica Fenty is a former professional make up artist as well as an accountant of Afro – Guinese background. Her father Ronald Fenty worked as a warehouse supervisor and also sold items on the street who is a mix of Irish and Barbados descent.

Rihanna's childhood was a difficult one as her father struggles with addictions to alcohol and crack cocaine eventually this led to her parents divorce when she was 14 years old. It’s important to note that her father has since overcome his addictions.

Rihanna had her own health issues and struggled with crippling headaches for several years during her childhood
