Mikes Feeding Tube Awareness week video in 2020!😊💚

Hi everyone! I was invited to take part in a video for National Feeding tube awareness week in February 2020 by a very nice youtuber named My Asterisk Life/or Hannah and I wanted to help. So my name is Mike. I'm 41 and I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The type of feeding tube I use is called a G-Tube. I received my first one back in 2014 because my illness began affecting my swallowing muscles and it was becoming difficult to eat.
My feeding tube has helped me by giving me the nutrition I need to stay alive and healthy. Before I received the G-Tube I only weighed 70 lbs and I was admitted to the hospital because my body began shutting down and I had pneumonia due to lack of good nutrition. I now weigh around 145 lbs and I'm much healthier and happier. I'm so happy that I got the G-Tube.
