Before Kid Ink would grace the cover of XXL Freshman Class of 2012.
Before Kid Ink got over 100 tattoos on his face, arms, hands, and torso.
Before he would work with everybody from DJ ill Will to Sean Diddy Combs, to Tyga , Meek Mill DJ Mustard and Chris Brown.

Kid Ink got his start in music as a teenager in after-school music programs making beats, taking after those he looked up to including Timberland, Swizz Beats and Pharrell Williams. Before he focused full time on music he was working as a security guard and at a Tattoo parlor originally under the name Rockstar and was strictly a producer before he put himself on the mic.
Born Brian Todd Collins He was born on April 1st 1986 in Los Angeles California. He and his older brother were raised mainly by his mother who remarried and from that marriage he would have two step brothers and two step sisters.

He had three passions growing up, music, art and extreme sports. He dreamt of becoming a BMX rider and would practice every chance he could. As for art, he would constantly be drawing which would eventually lead him explore getting Tattoo’s, receiving his first at the age of 16.

As for music, he was always into it but considered it a hobby initially. His early favorites were Mase and DMX with east coast being his early rap influence.

Kid Ink got his start in music at the age of after-school music programs making beats inspired by producers Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz.

He would hang at a local tattoo parlor and got work there and with music constantly on blast that’s where he got more and more into it.

He would also work security to bring in money and as he got more and more tatted up he figured his options in the coporate world would be limited so he began to double down on his music.
