A lot of times when we think of Prophecy we only think of the highest and most extreme examples. Such as the prophecy of Scripture or the word of a prophet. But the simple gift of prophecy can be defined as inspired utterance from the Holy Spirit in a known language. Its purpose is to edify encourage and comfort, so the Bible itself says. It is a Gift of the Spirit we should be benefiting from every day . .
