Pioneering NASA Air Pollution Monitor Begins Its Orbit
The video shows NASA's official broadcast of the launch of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket in the USA.
The rocket took off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida State, USA, on Friday, 7th April 2023.
It reportedly embarked on an hour-long mission to place the Intelsat 40E satellite and NASA's groundbreaking Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) instrument into orbit.
The rocket's first-stage main engine shut off after two and a half minutes after liftoff, and was reportedly followed by the separation of the first and second stages.
It reportedly marked a crucial milestone in the journey to enhance humanity's understanding of air pollution.
NASA said in a statement: "TEMPO, a partnership between NASA and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, is a payload on the satellite Intelsat 40E.
"It was built by Ball Aerospace and integrated onto Intelsat 40E by Maxar."
