Firefighters Save Terrified Pup Trapped Inside A Couple's Car Engine

Firefighters in the USA have rescued a frightened dog that got trapped inside a car engine.

Officers from the Lodi Fire Department in San Joaquin County, California State, USA, said that a couple stopped to catch the dog that was running loose on a busy road, on Tuesday, 4th April 2023.

But the spooked pooch crawled under their car and climbed up into the engine where she got stuck.

The department said in a statement: "Crews used jacks and stabilisation devices to secure the vehicle and then dismantled part of the engine until they were able to free her.

"This sweet pup was brought back to Station 1 where she got a bath before being picked up by our Animal Services team and is being cared for at the shelter until her owners claim her.

"We want to remind the community that it is important to microchip and register your dogs so when a separation like this occurs, we can help reunite you and your pet.

"Thank you to our Animal services team for all their help.

"We will post an update when she is claimed or if she becomes available for adoption."
