Your Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Might Be Caused By THIS!
👉 Did you know that your rounded shoulders and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) might be caused by the muscles in the front of the body?
👉 Muscles like the pec major, the pec minor, the Anterior Deltoids, the Lats, and even some of those rotator cuff muscles are all part of the same movement pattern that creates rounded shoulders.
👉 This movement pattern involves rotating the shoulders inwards, which is something we do every single day. As a result, the muscles and fascia in the front of the body begin to shorten and tighten, leading to rounded shoulders and potentially TOS.
👉 How does it create TOS? When the pec minor shortens, it not only compresses the nerves and blood vessels that run underneath it but also pulls the scapula forward, which can contribute to shoulder impingement syndrome as well (SIS).
👉 Not to worry though because several studies have shown that working on the pec minor and the fascia in the chest can help improve rounded shoulders and even TOS.
