Junk silver is US Mint half dollars, quarters, and dimes that are from 1964 or older. $1 Face Value (circulated) of junk silver = .715 Troy Ounces and $1.40 Face Value = about 1 Troy Ounce. When you are calculating prices $1 of junk silver face value can be any combination of coins. When looking at junk silver vs bullion it is clear that junk silver can be harder to price and buy.
