Nietzsche’s The Gay Science represents his attempt to overcome his early Schopenhauerian pessimism. We discuss Nietzsche’s criticism of morality and weigh its pros and cons. Then, we try to interpret his famous quote that ‘God is dead’. After this, we discuss his stance of life-affirmation and Nietzsche’s status as one of the masters of suspicion.
