Dale Jr. Questions Ty Gibbs Advisers and Grandpa Joe Confirms How Disconnected He Is From Reality

Ty Gibbs has been in the headlines all week for his shocking move last weekend at Martinsville when he wrecked his teammate Brandon Jones on the final lap of the Xfinity Series race and took away his chance to compete for a championship. The deliberate dumping was bad enough, but the 20-year-old compounded his problems by making multiple bad decisions that only added to an already horrible look.

This week on his popular podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr. discussed Gibbs' behavior and justifiably questioned those who are advising the young driver behind the scenes, including grandfather Joe. Junior suggested big changes must be made to correct the persistent bad choices.

Incredibly, Earnhardt's words on what Joe might be saying to his grandson behind closed doors were echoed by the team namesake in a meeting with reporters this week, where the 81-year-old repeated what he has said in the past when trouble has arisen and how they are working with Ty through the process.
