The temptation of Jesus at the beginning of His ministry was mirrored in the last week of His life. Bread, shield, and crown represent the temptations to provide for oneself, protect oneself, and promote oneself. Jesus refused the three at the beginning and end of His 3 years of ministry. Will we refuse?
