It is unlikely that they had plenty in Egypt, nor could they actually fear dying of hunger in the wilderness---even in the desert--- while they had their herds.
When you have endured trials how has your memory of the past been altered?

During times of trial we are called upon to use radical acceptance, prudence and endurance.
What are some instances in which people tried to help you but you focused on the problems?
Parental discipline
Empowerment / non-parentification / Tough love
