The Beretta 92x Performance is an out of the box ready to go match pistol, which is an improved 92FS, which is and of itself essentially an improved Walther P38. The 92FS became the US M9 service pistol, and now that Beretta lost their military contract, they're putting effort into modernizing the design for match, competitive and the civilian market.
