fossil naturally occurring gas is a mixture of mostly methane & ethane, propane, butane, pentane, hexane & may include hydrogen sulfide, & oddly helium
27 states require Carbon monoxide monitors by law but the USA has no federal standards or guidelines governing air pollution INDOORS, or home cooking space ventilation or privately owned unmaintained gas stoves that still emit Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxide , nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde even when properly set ! & its worse if employing a pilot light & all this cause 10 times the pollution levels allowed for outdoor air quality or worse, so unless maintenance, ventilation & piezo ignition lock outs are locally or federally mandated, electric or induction is "safer" since 1/8th of all childhood asthma cases is caused by gas stove nitrogen dioxide in spite of natural gas industry propagandist

Open a window while cooking & or Use your range vent hood, install one if you dont have it & Cook on the back burners where the vent is more effective use rice cookers, electric tea kettles, or INDUCTIVE portable electric one-burner stove or other electric appliances
