פלורידה עשויה להטיל עונש מוות על פדופילים המבצעים פשעים בקטינים בנסיבות מחמירות.
הצעת החוק שנדונה במדינה מתייחסת למי שמבצע תקיפה מינית בילדים מתחת לגיל 12.
הצעת החוק קובעת שפשע זה מפר את כל אמות המידה של הגינות המקובלות בחברה מתורבתת.
סעיף נוסף בהצעת החוק קובע מאסר עולם בלי אפשרות לשחרור מוקדם, במידה ולא תושג הסכמה רחבה בין מושבעים על הטלת עונש מוות.
