Classic handle

It can be difficult to choose the right handle for a porcelain mug.

I am a huge admirer of potters making handles that look like it grows from their work, but unfortunately, I must choose between a handle that will deform the mug in the fire and a “growing” handle.

That is because the walls of my mugs are thin and translucent and it become glass-like in the fir. The weight of a thick handle will not only deform the wall, but I’ve seen walls tearing under the weight of handles.

So.... I stick to a simple classic handle.
