Popular Video Games I Like VS Don't Like

I often get asked why I don't do game reviews. The reason is simple, my taste in games is a lot different than many other people. Case in point, the games on this list here. There are some games that many love that just, well, don't. There are also games I love that others don't. So let's take a look at some of my odd tastes in games!

Yoshi's Crafted World
I love the Yoshi games, and not just because Yoshi's Story's intro torments @SquarePegs (although that IS a bonus). Yoshi's Crafted World is a great continuation from Wolly World on the Wii U, it's super fun and cute, and just one of my favorites!

Ratchet & Clank
I love all the Ratchet & Clank Games. ALL of them, even the PS4 version that is generally panned. Listen, it's not a remaster of the original, and I am ok with that. It has a tweaked story that ties into the movie, and I loved the movie! It looks and plays great, even with the terrible Stalone voice actor.

Gears of War
One of two FPS games on this list, I've never really been an FPS fan. Like, ok, you shoot enemies and watch stuff blow up, that's cool, but I just could never get into the series. The He-Man art style also just didn't click with me. Nor did it go boom. Click-Click-Boom anyone?

MLB the Show
I love baseball. I didn't use to in the early 2000s but I love baseball now, and as such I've bought almost every rendition of the Show since the mid-2000s. The play-by-play is terrific, the physics are great, and I have to say they have really improved the sound of the crack of the bat in the latest version. It doesn't hurt that my team, the Milwaukee Brewers, have been contenders over that same period.

Mario Party
I don't DISLIKE the Mario Party games, I just don't like them. The biggest reason, there's rarely anyone for me to play against and, as such, playing against the computer sucks. I did buy the 1st Mario Party Game that came out on the Switch and, yeah, it confirmed it was not a franchise for me.

Final Fantasy
From the original Final Fantasy on the NES to the latest versions, I am just not a fan. I don't like RPGs, I REALLY don't like Turn-Based RPGs, and REALLY-REALLY don't like JRPGs. As such, none of the Final Fantasy games are my cup of tea.

Super Mario World
Oh heck yeah! Super Mario World is one of my favorite games of all time, from the amazing music, terrific level design, and deep story. This is such an amazing title and something I cannot recommend it highly enough. When it comes to Masterpieces, Super Mario World is one of the best ever.
