War of the Monsters (Gamera vs Barugon)

I have two more Gamera flicks on public domain DVDs, so I decided to post those, as well. this is War of the Monsters. That is the name of the U.S. edit of Gamera vs Barugon. Gamera vs Barugon was the second film in the Gamera series. Unlike the other films in the Showa era, there are no kids in this one. Barugon is a pretty unique monster with some strange powers. This, in my opinion is as close as the Showa era Gamera flicks ever got to being as good as the best of the Showa era Godzilla flicks. It's a fun watch.

This DVD transfer, however, is pretty terrible. It looks washed out, and a lot of the time it's like watching the film through fog or something. I did try to clean up the image as much as I could, but there isn't much that I actually can do. It still looks like trash. If you want a better viewing experience, there is a Blu Ray box set, and I would highly recommend supporting that official release. You can find that here:

That aside, I do hope you enjoy. I have one more Gamera flick to post. It's called Gamera vs Monster X, and it is the U.S. cut of Gamera vs Jiger. If you guys want, I do have a DVD with 5 other public domain movies on it. They look awful, but hey. You could at least watch them right?
