US Senate 11th hour panic prevent government shutdown ... again - Spike on Kennedy - 9/27/22 - pt1

I’ll say this, any organization that only acts from one crisis to the next and has to wait till the 11th hour to fix their problems by spending money none of us have to create debts none of us will be able to pay back probably shouldn’t be open. We need more energy permitting so we aren’t having to move from one totalitarian regime to another; from Russia, to Venezuela, to Iran, we should be drilling more here. We also need to realize that renewable energy is neither renewable nor environmentally friendly as it currently stands. It is heavily reliant on non-renewable resources and weather patterns. We need to expand clean fossil fuel development and taking another look at nuclear power. But I don’t think that’s going to happen until our government shuts down for good. Some like to point out that the Inflation Reduction Act provides money for nuclear plants, but under the current regulatory regime which hasn’t allowed a new nuclear plant to be built in the US for 50 plus years, that’s not going to be enough.
