Senator Hawley questions Energy Secretary Granholm about the radioactive contamination of Jana Elementary School in Missouri, which was shut down due to potential contamination from radioactive waste dating back to the Manhattan Project.

The school board and parents have repeatedly requested testing and cleanup from the US government, but have received no response. The Army Corps has pointed the school district to the Department of Energy for additional authorization, but the DOE claims that the responsibility lies with the Army Corps.

Senator Hawley's shocking warning to Secretary Granholm, 'Help these school children or else!', says he isn't playing around and is his top priority! He asks her to designate the school as a new superfund site and create a fund to clean up schools contaminated by Manhattan-era project waste.
