The Criminal Order of the World.
A documentary shown on Spanish TVE that addresses the perspectives of two great contemporary humanists on the current world: Eduardo Galeano and Jean Ziegler. One could say there is something prophetic in their testimonies, as the documentary was made before the crisis that ravaged peripheral countries in Europe, such as Spain.
The Criminal Order of the World, the murderous cynicism that enriches a small global oligarchy every day at the expense of the growing poverty of people around the world. Power increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few, people's rights increasingly restricted. Corporations controlling the governments of almost the entire planet, also having institutions like the IMF, WTO, and World Bank to defend their interests. Today, 500 companies hold more than 50% of the world's GDP, many of them belonging to the same group. (Docverdade)
