Lake Norman High student disciplined after posting racist photo

Student disciplined after posing in racially charged photos A student at Lake Norman High School was disciplined Friday after posting a racist photo on social media, the assistant superintendent of Iredell-Statesville Schools confirmed to The Charlotte Observer. The district investigated after the photo was shared across social media and included the student in a Lake Norman High graduation robe wearing a “white pointed hat that commonly represents white supremacy,” said Boen Nutting, the assistant superintendent. The photo was taken on Lake Norman High’s campus and wasn’t posted on a district or school page, Nutting said. The photo had the caption: “The South will rise again.”
