SOLVED: Missing 3-Years Underwater (Robert Heikka) The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the body inside a car belonging to a teacher who went missing in 2020 is him.On Saturday, Robert Heikka’s car was found in a canal along Pioneer Trail in New Smyrna Beach. After the car was taken out of the water, one person was found dead inside. Advertisement Investigators say the Creekside Middle School teacher disappeared on Oct. 25, 2020.Heikka had been working in the Volusia County School District since 1989 and started teaching at Creekside in 2002. Andrew Gant with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said Heikka's family was notified on the day of the discovery."Missing since October of 2020," Gant said. "And unfortunately found today."Gant said volunteer search teams notified their office on Saturday afternoon they had found a car in New Smyrna Beach and matched the tags with those on Robert Heikka's car. #scubadiving #missingperson #truecrime
