Installed our rebuilt motor Friday evening, went out for morning warm up and set the fastest lap of the morning (later dropped to third) before my engine blew up again. Borrowed an engine from a friend and had it swapped in half an hour, just in time to get to grid for my heat race. Started 10th and was up to 4th after a messy first lap, needing to finish 2nd to transfer to the main. Unfortunately with the rush we were in to get the kart back together we didn't get everything tightened down quite right and my exhaust fell off and a few laps later I lost the key for my clutch and was out of the race. Would've had the pace to at least make the transfer spot in the heat and do fairly well in the main but I guess it just wasn't our year.
