The Malachite (Siproeta stelenes) is a large butterfly whose upperside is dark brown/black with green and creme colored patches. The underside is orange/brown with green patches. It inhabits South Florida and South Texas , and south through Central America and Brazil.
Wing spread: 3.25" - 4.00"
It feeds on nectar from flowers and rotten fruits .
