Jake Bostwick fought to a majority draw against Isaac Doolittle in the co-main event of BKFC 38. Middleweight stakes were high in this one with Doolittle coming down to 175 pounds as a former title challenger at light heavyweight.

‘Brutal’ felt the knockdown scored by Doolittle helped Isaac with the scoring in the long run. That being said, Bostwick was largely pleased with how he adhered to his game plan other than that momentary lapse that saw him on the canvas.

In regards to challenges faced through the battle, Bostwick described ‘The Honey Badger’ as a tough guy who definitely showed up. Bostwick felt both gave each other a great fight at the end of the day and the mutual respect seemed evident.

Also for Bostwick, this was a home turf fight, so to speak, as someone who was born in England fighting in Hollywood, Florida.

When addressing the partisan support and if that compounded any stresses for him, Bostwick stated “This is definitely my home turf. Nah, no extra pressure. Obviously, I’m having fun. I’m just; I’m an entertainer, you know. At the end of the day, I enjoy being in front of the camera.”
“I enjoy putting on a show and showing my abilities. Yeah, I just hope that I really did entertain people. People seemed to be shouting and cheering. I keep getting compliments on it being a great fight. So as long as everyone was entertained, then I feel I’ve done my job.”

This fight transpired after initially being postponed but that didn’t phase Bostwick. He looked at the positives in the situation and saw it as a chance to get another four or five weeks of work in. Bostwick seized it as a chance to get in even better shape and come in even more optimized which he felt he did.

As far as what’s next for Bostwick, he quipped, “Honestly, I’ve had my eyes working on for that strap. You know, I really am looking to get for the 175 strap all day. If me and Isaac (Doolittle), we’ve got to run it again because of obviously that decision, then all be. But other than that next in line, I’m definitely trying to get that bit of gold.”
