Reduce it to the ridiculous! In other words, start small. Don't start out trying to form a habit of saving $500 a day or running 5 miles a day. Start out by saving $20 each paycheck or walking 20 minutes a day. Then begin to build upon the habits you've formed to get to the place you want to be.
