I used to work inside the artic circle. Summertime the sun just wobbles between 11 and 1 o'clock all day and night in the summer time night or day. 24 hours of sun for a couple of months.
When I would fly home 4000 miles away. I experienced sunrises and sunsets. Day and night?
Winter was the absence of sun totally opposite.
I have no way to explain it.
This is my real world experienced. Most people have not been to the artic to be able to make this contrast. Gleason's new standard map of the world : on the projection of J.S. Christopher, Modern College, Blackheath, England ; scientifically and practically correct ; as "it is."
