Tonight on The Edge of Reality we delve into the mystery surrounding the “Miracle of Fatima,” also referred to as “The Miracle of the Sun.” An event that took place in Portugal in 1917. Three children claim to have been visited by the Virgin Mary and warned about events to come. Two of the three children died later, but the third became a Catholic nun, and wrote of three prophecies that heralded great change in the world, as well as a warning. There has been much debate surrounding the prophecies of Sister Lucia dos Santos, of Fatima. Especially her third prophecy, which the Vatican withheld until 2000, when they supposedly published it to the world. Father Malachai Martin, on the other hand, who wrote extensively on the subject, and even interviewed Sister Lucia, called the Vatican’s actions (or in this case, inaction) into question. What is the Vatican hiding? What were Sister Lucia’s final words in the Third Prophecy? What warning did she receive in 1917? And, how did three Portuguese children become the focal point of an unexplained event in the skies over Portugal on October 13, 1917, that was witnessed by thousands of onlookers?
