What is “Equitable Grading” in Public School?

Equitable grading can take many forms but the aim is to measure students without penalties for behavior. The theory states that judging student behavior can introduce bias. Homework is given much less importance than traditionally. Students are given multiple opportunities to complete tests and assignments. The theory also states that traditional grading methods are biased towards children with stable home life and parents that are involved in their kids’ life. Students can turn in homework up until the end of the class, so lessons drag on and on. It sets students up for a false sense of reality. The bulk of the grade is from tests or essays instead of homework. There are no points for attendance. The grades start at 49% to make sure a student can’t sink too low in their grade.
As can be reasonably predicted, students are gaming the system. After all, students are human beings. The issue with equitable grading is the lack of accountability, which is an issue in American society in general, I think you would agree with that whether you are left or right leaning. So what do you think about equitable grading? Is the traditional education system racist and biased?
