Chris Tulien is a driven entrepreneur and accomplished chef from Colorado. Born in Scottsdale, Chris spent most of his childhood in Colorado, where he attended three different high schools. After graduation, Chris followed his passion for culinary arts and enrolled in Paragon Culinary School in Colorado Springs. His dedication paid off when he graduated second in his class.
Chris went on to work as a sous chef at Wolf Rock, a prime steak and seafood restaurant in Keystone, CO, where he honed his skills in the kitchen while pursuing his passion for snowboarding. In addition to his work at Wolf Rock, Chris also gained experience as a private and catering chef. However, it was his experience working with Cultivated Spirits, where he combined his culinary skills with his knowledge of cannabis, that sparked his interest in the emerging industry of cannabis-infused cuisine. At Cultivated Spirits, Chris was part of a team that hosted events featuring weed, wine, and food pairings, which inspired him to create his own CBD and THC-infused edibles that could be enjoyed by a wider audience.
Chris Tulien and his partner, Kirk, at the time founded Summit CBD. Summit was growing so fast that we brought on another partner, Justin Henderson, in 2017, who provided the space for us to continue our growth at an accelerated rate. Kirk then left the company in 2018, and we continued to grow Summit into a successful contract manufacturer, producing high-quality CBD and alternative cannabinoid products for other companies in the industry. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Summit CBD was forced to pivot to an online mail-order business to survive. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, Chris and Justin were able to adapt to the changing landscape of the industry and continue to produce top-notch products.
After Summit, Chris and Justin launched a grassroots manufacturing company in Arizona, with brands such as Lush Edibles and Dermafreeze. Their commitment to quality and innovation has earned them first-place awards for gummies and topicals, including the Buyers and Consumers Choice awards for their chocolate-covered strawberry 100mg gummy at the Blazing Arizona Cannabis Cup on 420.
When Chris isn't busy growing his business, he enjoys indulging in his passions for cooking and music. He has become known as DJ Tulien, and he's often found spinning tracks at local events. Chris also loves spending time with his 15-month-old son, Leo. Above all, Chris is passionate about producing high-quality, award-winning products that embody his core values of hard work, innovation, and integrity. He is committed to ensuring that his customers receive the best possible experience with his brands, and he looks forward to continuing to push the boundaries of the cannabis-infused cuisine industry.
