While some adventures don't go as planned, it doesn't make them any less of an adventure. This attempt at Strawberry Mountain wasn't what I had envisioned…

I ended up making the right choice and coming down. Even though I was only 2.5 miles from the top, and the weather and filming would have been epic, I was running out of fuel to melt snow for water. But I still made a trip out of it by spending that night down at a lower elevation by a pretty cool waterfall.

Every adventure, and especially those in winter months, offer the chance to learn about you and your gear. Always a positive.
