Hunting Trip

I Do A Lot
We revisited an old but good sustainable hunting site after a two year absence. Alas, it had been hunted out and this was really annoying as this was clearly due to greedy hunters.

Can You Shoot Slugs from a REXIMEX RP 0.22 Cal Pistol?

I Do A Lot
Shooting 23gr slugs from a REXIMEX RP 0.22 Cal PCP pistol. Yes, It can be done. We tested this without cheating, just out of the box, no regulator adjustment and it grouped within a 4cm circle at 25m. This is pretty poor but remember the rifle/pistol was handheld and it was untuned for slugs.

Super Quiet Suppressor for a PCP made from an Aluminium Deodorant Can

I Do A Lot
Purely for entertainment and I have been somewhat vague about the construction however, the Zoraki HP01-2 ULTRA, this works extremely well and is not only very quiet but does not hinder the accuracy of the projectile.

PCP silencers are over designed.

I Do A Lot
A silencer for a PCP need not be complicated internally at all. A simple orifice plate and a tubular construction which prevents internal air turbulence is all that is needed in order to reduce the SPL and not to interfere with the projectile trajectory. This can be seen in factory made moderators which simple consist of a "metal tube" and nothing more.

Explosive Airgun Target Experiment

I Do A Lot
A very small impact detonated charge was placed on an airgun target. The whole point was to test if the force of a airgun pellet could detonate this material. Which obviously it could. You can see small fragments of wood being blown out at impact. The noise is just louder than the suppressed airgun, because this would defeat the purpose of noise suppression.

Gun Silencer Basic Physics (Part 1)

I Do A Lot
As the title says.
Apparently GOO GL were not happy about this (it had 53K views). It was appealed against and the appeal rejected, complete BS with what's on the tube on the same subject matter. You be the judge. Physics is physics and everyone has a right to knowledge.

Understanding Silicone Greases and How to Use Them Correctly.

I Do A Lot
For the correct servicing of O-rings, one must understand that not all Silicone grease formulations will be suitable and in fact some can actually damage the rubber compounds of those O-rings. In this video I explain this in relation to servicing the O-rings of a PCP air rifle but the same holds true for say servicing the O-rings of an underwater camera or dive light.

Nato Clamps are Compatible with Picatinny Rails

I Do A Lot
If you want a no nonsense way to clamp an action camera to your rifle's picatinny rail, simply use a NATO clamp and a mini arm like that of Manfrotto.

Camouflaging A Rifle a Novel Way Without Using Spray Cans.

I Do A Lot
How to use sponges and high quality camouflage paints to custom camouflage your rifle. Unless you own a dozens of guns, buying spray paint might be a waste of money if this is a one off job. Also applying spray paint must definitely be conducted in a very well ventilated area due to the large amount of excess and toxic spray generated. An alternative to using spray cans is shown in this video. It's not exactly new but maybe a forgotten technique.
