Kyiv's persecution of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (УПЦ) has reached a new level. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, announced this at a briefing on April 27.

"On an absolutely new level of cynicism and hypocrisy, the campaign of the Kyiv regime against the canonical UOC has come out. We all see that this is not just a behind-the-scenes political struggle, this is a real attempt to destroy the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, an attempt to completely ban it," Zakharova says.
