History Of Slavery

I've researched my family tree for over 20 years. I learned that there were entire branches of my family that were devastated because the men were killed fighting to free slaves and to end slavery. It's a frickin' kick in the teeth to have people NOW say that I owe them something because of what happened back then. Um, hello, wasn't the spilled blood and lost lives of MY family enough of a compensation? Now, you want my money too?
