Today I show you how I make a dirt bath for my chickens. Making a simple box 18" x 24" will be enough for 25 chickens for approximately 2 weeks. I use Play sand, Top soil and wood ash from my wood burner. Mixing the 3 in equal parts makes for a great dry bath. The advantages of using wood ash is it keeps the bugs away as they cannot stand the smell of something burnt. Thus is keeps the mites, fleas and ticks away from your chickens.
